Several Excellent Golf Courses are only a short drive away at Clonmel, Lismore and Dungarvan.

It is our pleasure at The Pilgrim's Rest Hotel to arrange visits to any of the golf courses in the area and have negotiated reduced green fees for our guests with our complements.

Fishing

Game angling in Ireland is the pursuit of salmon and trout in wild places. The rivers within close proximity to The Pilgrim's Rest Hotel offer a unique opportunity to experience salmon and sea trout fishing and fly-fishing in unspoilt surroundings

Mt. Melleray Scout Centre lies high in the Knockmealdown Mountains. Originally a Boarding School attached to the Abbey of Mount Melleray was acquired by Scouting Ireland C.S.I. in 1975 and opened as a Scout Activity Centre.

Scouts

Since then the Scout Centre has been continuously improved and offers you the opportunity to run a very active and varied programme for "Scouts" of every age.

With hills at our back door and a glen with river and forest nearby it is an ideal scouting location. It is an exciting activity base for all, from the smallest Beaver to the most experienced Venturer.

Walking and Trekking

Lismore is one of the most beautiful and tranquil places in Ireland if you are an activity walker, hill climber or would just like a nice stroll the area offers fantastic walking opportunities for the beginner and experienced walker alike!

With fantastic 360 degree panoramic views from the mountains a walk to some of the peeks is a rewarding way to spend part of your day. Or maybe you would like a lazy stroll by the river. Picnics can be arranged for your day out by the river. Just contact the hotel staff and we will be more than happy to accommodate your request.

Equestrian

Also available in the area is horse riding and other equestrian leisure activities
